I bought a Mac !!

Folks, finally I pulled the trigger. Ordered my iMac via the Apple store on Sunday (after the horrific Patriots loss to the Fins) and I was thrilled to see the box at home when I arrived from work today. I just finished setting it up folks. I am speechless, I feel like a kid in a candy store.


Even rebooting my Windows PC was a painful experience for me, let alone setting up the machine. But the Mac, what an experience it has been turning this puppy on. I did not want the setup to finish - I was having so much fun. Apple gets it. I still cannot control my joy as I am writing this blog. It is truly a remarkable product. I have not had so much fun using a product. Mac, you made my day. No more messy wires, no more towers, it is nirvana !!

Take the plunge into the MacWorld?

I am ready to retire my dinosaur PC - my 600 MhZ Dell with 20GB disk. It has served me well so far (did not do much with it other than reading email and surfing the web) but the thousands of photos are piling up and eating away all that disk space. Started looking into new PC's. But being a person who is not comfortable buying anything that is cheap, ended up specing a Dell PC that I would need for say the next few years. Found that it would cost me about $1400 for the 1GB Ram, 3 GHz, 160 GB hard drive I need. That is when I started looking into the iMac. Was surprised that I could get a Mac for the same price. Still in doubt whether I would be able to get used to a Mac after all these years using a Windows PC, I ended up at the local Apple store. I have to say that I was blown away with iWork - just the thing I need to do something with all the photos I have taken of my kids. I am very close to taking the plunge into the Mac World.

I am looking at buying the 20 inch iMac. Hopefully this week.
